Project 270 was Mana Public Arts (MPA) effort to increase voter awareness and turnout, particularly amongst voters 18-38 during the 2020 election. The purpose of the project was to flood the country with Get Out The Vote (GOTV) images, posters, billboards, and other art ahead of election day. To do this, MPA partnered with more than outstanding graphic, street, and visual artists to create 65 these state-specific, DC, Puerto Rico, and city-specific posters. To maximize the reach and overall impact of the project, all imagery created was made available to the public, for free, via download. In addition, MPA worked with local artists and partners in battleground states and key urban areas to distribute and wheat paste the posters in the weeks leading up to election day.
Beyond getting out the vote, Project 270 focused extensively on creating a sense of national unity during a time when the country was being torn apart by partisan and racial rhetoric. By covering all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, Project 270 endeavored to remind us that we are one nation regardless of geography.
Proceeds from posters sales from November 30, 2020 - December 15, 2020 will benefit Fair Fight.
